Budget Committee

The Budget Committee meets usually once a year, in the last week in April. Its job is to review the proposed City Budget and recommend the Final Budget for approval by the City Council. The City Budget is the financial document that the City Staff uses to accomplish the tasks set out for it by the City Council.

Before the meeting the Committee is presented the budget for their review. At the meeting the Budget Officer presents the budget to the Committee, the Committee asks questions, challenges assumptions and approves different sections of the budget. At the end of the meeting the Committee recommends to the Council the approval of the budget with any suggested changes.
