Election Date: November 3, 2026
Candidate filing for the November 3, 2026 General Election opens on June 3, 2026.
Candidacy Requirements
- Candidates must complete and submit Form SEL 101 to file for candidacy.
- Candidates must complete one of the following:
- Pay a $10 filing fee (preferred)
- OR submit Form SEL 338 with at least 25 valid (verifiable) signatures using Form SEL 121
- Candidates must have resided within the City of Drain for at least 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the election.
Positions Open for Election
- Mayor — 2-year term
- Councilor #2 — 4-year term
- Councilor #4 — 4-year term
Filing Deadlines
- August 25, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. — Final filing deadline
- August 18, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. — Incumbent candidate deadline
